According to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, Alabama football will lose one of its offensive linemen to the transfer portal. According to reports, offensive tackle Elijah Pritchett intends to enter the portal.
Pritchett, a redshirt freshman, joined Alabama’s class of 2022. This season, he competed for the Crimson Tide’s left tackle position with true freshman Kadyn Proctor.
Proctor ended up taking the majority of the snaps at that position, though Pritchett did as well, particularly early in SEC play. The line as a whole struggled early in the season, but has improved in the latter stages.
Pritchett appears to have played in 12 games this season. According to Pro Football Focus, he played 95 snaps this season.
“I’m really proud of both of those guys (Proctor and Pritchett) for the way they’re weathering the storm right now,” Alabama guard Tyler Booker said in October. “Brighter days are definitely ahead, I like how they improve each week.”
On Alabama’s football roster, Pritchett is listed at 6-foot-6, 312 pounds. He came to Alabama as a four-star prospect on the 247Sports composite out of Carver, Georgia.
He chose Alabama over a number of other schools, including Florida State, Georgia, and Southern California.
The Crimson Tide’s season will end with a game against Michigan in the Rose Bowl semifinals of the College Football Playoff. The game is set for January 1.
