The National Early Signing Day for college football is on Wednesday, and the majority of the country’s top prospects have already decided where they will play. In fact, many have already registered and are taking part in bowl practice with their respective teams.
That’s becoming the new normal as the recruiting cycle shifts, but there are still candidates out there waiting to make a decision.
On Monday night, the Alabama Crimson Tide landed one of them in Jayshawn Ross.
Ross, a four-star athlete, announced his commitment to the Alabama Crimson Tide on Monday night, becoming the Tide’s 22nd member of the 2024 class.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound athlete from Liberty North High School in Kansas City, Mo., is ranked No. 6 in the state of Missouri and No. 21 overall in the class.
This past season, he paid an official visit to Tuscaloosa for the LSU game and was primarily pursued by Freddie Roach and Coleman Hutzler. Ross chose Alabama over Kansas State, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.
According to 247Sports, Alabama has the No. 4 overall class, but Ross’ commitment moves them up to No. 3 in the 247Sports composite, which includes other recruiting services rankings.
As the 2024 cycle comes to a close, the Crimson Tide has a few more targets. Alabama would like to add a running back or two and, if possible, trade a defensive lineman.
