The Kansas City Chiefs are in unfamiliar territory in the Patrick Mahomes era, as the offense continues to struggle as the season enters Week 17. Not only has the team not been able to score at will like in previous years, but Mahomes has been seen becoming heated throughout games, which is unusual for him.

Dante Hall, a two-time All-Pro for the Kansas City Chiefs, gave the quarterback some direct advise on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football.

“Patrick Mahomes, I love you you’re my favorite quarterback, but I think you need to fall in love with the mundane,” Hall went on to say. “It’s time to be check down Tom Brady.”

Hall argued that Mahomes should quit attempting to make big plays and instead focus on little gains when possible. But then he mentioned Mahomes’ recent outbursts.

“Body language is everything,” he went on to say. “When you yell and scream at your players, it permeates negatively.” Return to your cheerful attitude.”

It all started on Dec. 10, when the Chiefs were defeated by the Buffalo Bills after a game-winning score was turned back due to wide receiver Kadarius Toney being called offsides. Instead of blaming his buddy, Mahomes rushed after the officials to halt the game and was restrained. He continued to dispute the call after the game.

Mahomes had a frustrated outburst during his team’s Week 15 triumph against the New England Patriots after his beautiful pass sailed straight off the hands of Toney and into the palms of linebacker Jahlani Tavai.

Finally, before his team’s catastrophic collapse against the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day, cameras saw him tearing into his offensive line on the sidelines. The pass-catchers in Kansas City have been the clear target of the NFL world’s criticism, but it appears Mahomes’ off-the-field response is drawing unwanted attention to his team.
