Sad News: The Steelers are distraught since crucial four player has a horrific injury

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Steelers began Week 17 with six players on the injured list, including four starters who did not practice.

The Steelers are awaiting the return of safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (knee), who did not practice this week, as they prepare to face the Seattle Seahawks this weekend. Najee Harris (knee), Isaac Seumalo (shoulder), and Elandon Roberts (pectoral) were all absent from practice.

Kenny Pickett (ankle) and Trenton Thompson (neck) were both limited.

After suffering a pectoral injury against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 16, head coach Mike Tomlin has already ruled Roberts out for Week 17. In his absence, the Steelers will face the Seahawks with Mark Robinson, Mykal Walker, Blake Martinez, and Myles Jack. Jack will most likely be promoted from the practice squad.

Fitzpatrick was expected to start the week in a restricted capacity, but with the All-Pro safety sidelined, it looks he’s not ready to return to the field just yet. Fitzpatrick was out last week after injuring himself in Week 15.

With Thompson out, the Steelers’ safety corps could gain some much-needed depth. Cornerbacks Patrick Peterson and Miles Killebrew were anticipated to start for the time being, with practice squad veteran Eric Rowe being called up.

Harris and Seumalo have missed many practices in recent weeks due to ailments. Neither player has missed a game due to their injuries, and the expectation is that both will be available against the Seahawks.
