Oklahoma football fans couldn’t help but admire one of their former players as he performed a clinic on Monday during Super Wild Card Weekend. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted the Philadelphia Eagles in the first-round finale, with two former Sooner quarterbacks facing off in the nightcap. However, Tampa Bay’s Baker Mayfield outperformed Philadelphia’s Jalen Hurts on the biggest stage. The former first-round pick dominated for four quarters, leading his team to a comfortable 32-9 win. Sooner fans took to social media during and after the game to praise Mayfield’s playoff performance.
Oklahoma Football Fans React To Baker Mayfield’s Outing
Former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield finished with 22-0f-36 for 337 yards and three touchdowns. He had two carries for 16 yards. Mayfield could have had more efficient numbers if future Hall of Fame wide receiver Mike Evans and the usually dependable Cade Otton hadn’t dropped some key passes. Oklahoma fans rejoiced on Twitter (also known as X) over their former signal callers’ success.
