
Former Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Gerald Mincey, who recently announced his commitment to Kentucky, responded to some nasty remarks made on social media.
He also claims he played with a torn MCL this season.
“Really gave my all to Tennessee,” Mincey stated in a tweet. “I’m not going to lie; reading all these bad comments stings. I played this past season with a torn MCL and was able to assist my team win a bowl game with a big smile on my face because I enjoyed being a Yolunteer, but business is business.”
The former Vol started six games at right tackle for Tennessee last season. He was expected to be the full-time right tackle ahead of his transfer. Mincey’s departure forced Tennessee to the look to the portal for a new right tackle. The Vols are expected to receive a commitment from LSU offensive tackle transfer Zalance Heard, a former five-star recruit who played in all 13 games for the Tigers in 2023 as a true freshman (including one start).
