The Canterbury Bulldogs have signed Roy Tatupu, nephew of former New Zealand Kiwi Tony Tatupu, until the end of the 2025 season.
The 17-year-old joins the Bulldogs following a stellar athletic career. Earlier this year, he competed for New Zealand in softball, Auckland Blues Under-18s in rugby union, and the Open Men’s volleyball team.
Tatupu, a 190cm outside back, was scouted by multiple clubs before joining the Bulldogs.
Phil Gould told Wide World of Sports that Roy has been performing well in training over the past week.
Tony Tatupu, his uncle, played 141 rugby league games between 1994 and 2001, including two stints with the New Zealand Warriors in 1995-96 and 1998-99.
Throughout his career, he played for Western Samoa six times and the New Zealand Kiwis four.
