Breaking News: Antonio Pierce Officially announce as Raiders next HC

After Josh McDaniels was fired by the Raiders in 2023, Pierce was named interim head coach and finished 5-4. Before being given the opportunity to become a head coach on October 31, he was in his second season as the linebackers coach.

Pierce was a nine-season NFL player who was named to the Pro Bowl once, won a Super Bowl, and captained the club.

Before spending five seasons as an Arizona State coach, he started his coaching career at Long Beach Poly High School. Before taking on the roles of associate head coach and defensive coordinator, he was the linebackers coach. Pierce was elevated to defensive coordinator in 2021 and contributed to the Sun Devils’ defense ranking first in the Pac-12 in a number of categories, including scoring defense (20.8), total yards allowed per game (326.3), defensive touchdowns (three tied for first place), interceptions (16), and sacks (27).

Before the 2022 season, he resigned after an NCAA investigation into a recruiting infraction and joined the Raiders staff.
