The Braves also have excellent pitching, which should keep them competitive in many games. Spencer Strider is the team’s top pitcher, with projections of 4.0 wins above replacement. That is the highest total among all pitchers in baseball.

He’s expected to advance as an elite pitcher in 2024. The Atlanta Braves added another arm to their starting rotation by trading for Sale. Atlanta may also call on some prospects to line up behind Strider this season.
Hurston Waldrep and AJ Smith-Shawver are both expected to make starts for the Braves in 2024, adding depth to the rotation and putting Atlanta in position to compete for a solid postseason seeding, as they did last season.
Of course, the goal will be to continue the positive play into the postseason and find a way to make a deeper run than they have in the previous two seasons.
