Browns quarterback Joe Flacco joined the Pardon My Take podcast to discuss his time in Cleveland this year and if he’d consider reuniting with the franchise next season.

We aren’t even a week out from the Browns’ tough Wild Card loss to Houston last Saturday, but fans are already thinking ahead to 2024.

Cleveland shockingly advanced to the NFL Playoffs despite facing enormous difficulties due to injuries. Their 11-6 record and playoff berth were due to the play of now-39-year-old Joe Flacco down the stretch in December.

Flacco used to dominate Cleveland during his career with the Ravens and was an enemy of the area until he donned the Orange and Brown himself in recent months. Fans now want to see him remain longer.

The 16-year veteran kept the door open on a return to Cleveland on the Pardon My Take Podcast this week.

In six Cleveland games, Flacco was nothing short of brilliant. He went 4-2 and had impressive stats: 1,923 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. In five of his six games, he also threw for over 300 yards.

If you extrapolate those figures across a 17-game season, Flacco and the Browns would have been an 11 or 12-win club, with Flacco throwing for 39 touchdowns, 5,384 yards, and (look away) 28 interceptions.

Yes, this is a small sample size, but it’s tough to deny that Flacco was throwing the ball at a high level.

Cleveland finds itself in an interesting situation. From a financial standpoint, there is no debate over who will play quarterback next season. Deshaun Watson is not going anywhere.

Flacco’s future will be decided over the course of the next few months, but for now, the organization at least knows he’s open to a reunion.
