TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer has secured the commitment of 5-star wide receiver Ryan Williams, his first major recruiting win since taking over the Crimson Tide.
Many consider Williams to be one of the nation’s best wide receivers. He was originally a recruit in the 2025 recruiting cycle, but reclassified and maintained his 5-star rating.
Williams briefly left the Crimson Tide after former Alabama head coach Nick Saban announced his retirement. Following his decommitment, multiple schools made a strong push for him, including Auburn and Texas.
Williams made his Bryant-Denny Stadium debut in November, playing in the 6A state championship game. He appeared to be the most unstoppable player on the field, catching 11 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns and returning a kickoff for a touchdown in the 31-28 loss.
There is no doubt that Williams will be a significant addition to the Crimson Tide offense in 2024, joining returning wide receivers Kendrick Law, Kobe Prentice, and Jalen Hale, among others, as well as Washington transfer receiver Germie Bernard. DeBoer and new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb have plenty of outside talent to work with in their high-powered offensive scheme, which will make good use of these talents.
Williams announced his commitment by posting a video on Instagram and Twitter/X that includes photos and video from his most recent visit to Tuscaloosa, which took place last weekend.
