Henry is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March if Tennessee does not sign the former Alabama All-American to an extension.
“I think a player like Derrick Henry fits in every offense,” Callahan told WPRT-FM. “He’s been an outstanding player. He has been the franchise’s face for quite some time. When you think of the Tennessee Titans, you think of Derrick Henry, and he deserves it.
“If he is open to a return that works for us, I will never say no to good players. I know he’s been an incredible leader in this building as well, which carries a lot of weight, so you can find ways to utilize every player. There is no offensive system that would say, ‘I don’t want Derrick Henry here.’ I believe he still has some gas in the tank, so we’ll see where that goes. I know he’s going to hit the market and see what’s out there for him, but I would never say no to a player like that if they want to return here and it fits for them.

I know he’s going to hit the market to see what’s available to him, but I’d never turn down a player like that if they want to return here and it works for them.
Earlier this month, Henry stated, “I ain’t done playing.” However, he also stated that he believes the Titans are “going in a different direction,” despite the fact that Tennessee general manager Ran Carthon stated that “the door’s never closed” on keeping the running back.
Callahan takes over for Mike Vrabel, who was fired on Jan. 9 after leading Tennessee to a 54-45 record and three playoff appearances in six seasons as coach.
