According to reports, the New Orleans Saints’ NFC South opponents have made stunning hires for head coaching positions at the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons.

Reports indicate the New Orleans Saints’ NFC South adversaries have made surprising appointments for the head coach positions at the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons.

First, Carolina intends to employ Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Dave Canales as the Panthers’ next head coach. Canales will work with Bryce Young, the franchise quarterback.

He has revitalised the careers of Geno Smith (Seahawks) and Baker Mayfield (Buccaneers) during his last two stops in Seattle and Tampa.

Next, Atlanta decided against employing Bill Belichick in favour of Raheem Morris, the Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator. He will return to the NFC South as a head coach, having led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009 to 2011. Morris served as the Falcons’ interim head coach in 2020, taking over for Dan Quinn when he was fired at midseason. He now holds a 21-38 record as a head coach.

Morris, 47, has won two Super Bowl rings. He won his first ring as a Tampa Bay staff member during Super Bowl XXXVII, and his most recent ring came with the Los Angeles Rams during Super Bowl LVI.

Both hiring filled head coaching positions in the NFC South. Current head coaches include Dennis Allen (Saints), Todd Bowles (Bucs), Dave Canales (Panthers), and Raheem Morris (Falcons).

NEWS: OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR SEARCH UPDATE
After parting ways with longtime coach Pete Carmichael Jr., New Orleans continues to interview applicants for the role of offensive coordinator. According to reports, the Saints plan to interview the team’s assistant coach, Ronald Curry, as well as Steelers’ Mike Sullivan. They passed up on Dan Pritcher (Bengals) and Shane Waldron (Bears) as offensive coordinator prospects.

Bob Rose put it this way: “The Saints have also interviewed Rams QB coach Zac Robinson, Texans quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson, 49ers passing game coordinator Klint Kubiak, and 49ers quarterbacks coach Brian Griese.”
