The Tennessee Titans have had double-digit players miss the first two practices of Week 16 as they prepare for the Seattle Seahawks, and more bad injury news came on Friday when multiple players were ruled out.
The Titans have ruled out eight players, including five starters. One of those starters was Amani Hooker, a safety. Hooker had a successful year for the team, but his season is now over. The Titans will be without both starting safeties, as K’Von Wallace was also ruled out. Expect Elijah Molden and Terrell Edmunds to take the majority of the photos.
Sean Murphy-Bunting has been ruled out, so the cornerback situation may worsen. Starting cornerback Kristian Fulton is already on injured reserve, leaving Roger McCreary as the sole starter, with Tre Avery and rookie Eric Garror as backups. Caleb Farley also practiced at cornerback, but Mike Vrabel announced that he would not play this season.
Will Levis, the quarterback, returned to practice as well. Levis missed Wednesday and Thursday with a high-ankle sprain, but he was seen with the team during the stretch period to begin practice and is listed as questionable. Levis’ heavily braced leg is visible in the video below, which was shot by Jim Wyatt of the Tennessee Titans.
Levis may be pushing to play, or Vrabel may be attempting gamesmanship. In any case, Levis’ presence on Sunday would undoubtedly pose a long-term risk to the Titans given the state of their offensive line.
On the Seattle side, the injury list isn’t as long, but it’s far from short. Seattle could be without several key players, including running back Kenny Walker Jr., center Evan Brown, and cornerback Devon Witherspoon, all of whom are questionable.
They will be without safety Jamal Adams, wide receiver Dee Eskridge, and edge rusher Frank Clark for this game, as all three have already been ruled out. Seattle will get quarterback Geno Smith back, as he practiced all week after missing the previous two games.
