Update: discloses $1.5 million decision that triggered shock Eels slide.

Parramatta’s season has been a nightmare, with last year’s grand finalists certain to miss the finals in the last two rounds.

There have been a few excuses for Brad Arthur’s team, which has only won 11 games and is now too far behind to make the top eight before the end of the season.

Five-eighth Dylan Brown was suspended for over two months due to a court case, while star wingers Maika Sivo and Reagan Campbell-Gillard were suspended, as well as Ryan Matterson for the first month of the season.
