Ryan Montgomery, a four-star quarterback out of Findlay, Ohio, is still being recruited, with several prestigious schools vying for the services of the signal-caller.

Montgomery is in Gainesville this weekend for his most recent trip to Florida. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound player made it into his top five colleges, and the Gators are vying for his services.

Billy Napier, the head coach of Florida, traveled to Ohio last month to see Montgomery at his school. Previously, in September, the four-star was in Gainesville to witness the Gators defeat Tennessee in The Swamp.

Following the UF-Tennessee game, Montgomery told On3, “The atmosphere was better than advertised.” “The whole time, the crowd were just yelling nonstop. It was crazy.

“On Sunday, I managed to remain and have another meeting with the personnel. Everything went smoothly. I had the opportunity to see some tape with coaches Ryan O’Hara and Gavin Pruett and see what lessons they are imparting.

Montgomery has already spent the last two weekends traveling to Georgia and South Carolina. The quarterback left the Gamecocks and Bulldogs with a good impression, and both teams intend to stay in the hunt until the very end.

Coach Beamer, Coach Loggains, and the strength staff were the people I spent the most time with. Regarding his visit to South Carolina, Montgomery told On3’s Chad Simmons, “They all reaffirmed that I am the priority in the 2025 class.” “After the visit, I had positive feelings about South Carolina. They continue to rank highly on my list and are a good school in my opinion.

He continued, “Georgia is right there in the mix” in reference to the Bulldogs. They are a top school in my opinion, and following this visit, their ranking has just increased. This visit meant a lot to us. I believe I would fit in well in Georgia, as I have always had a strong interest in the state.

Penn State and Michigan were also included in Montgomery’s top five. Based on a weighted average that takes into account all four of the main recruiting media companies, the On3 Industry Ranking ranks him as the No. 19 quarterback in the 2025 cycle and the No. 243 overall prospect. In Ohio, he is ranked as the ninth player.

Keon Young is an in-state target for Florida in 2025 and the four-star safety is high on the Gators.

With three commits, Florida’s 2025 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 12 in the country. The players are Jalen Wiggins, a four-star defensive lineman from Tallahassee, Fla.; Waltez Clark, a four-star running back from Tampa Plant; and Josiah Abdullah, a three-star wide receiver from Atlanta Woodward Academy.
