Kirill Kaprizov was invited to the NHL All-Star game as a Minnesota Wild representative for the third consecutive season. The NHL reinstated a draft in place of the customary All-Star game structure. Nathan MacKinnon selected Kaprizov with the eleventh overall choice in the draft.

With the goalkeeper removed, Kaprizov’s team gave up goals to Connor McDavid and David Pastrnak, and ultimately lost in a shootout. The club had led 3-1 going into the last minute of play.

Kaprizov was on the ice close to Jeremy Swayman when McDavid, the team’s captain, slipped by him and hammered the tying goal into an open net.\

With just one shot in eight shifts overall, the three-time NHL All-Star concluded both the match and the competition. With seven minutes and twenty seconds remaining on the ice, he was minus one.

In preparation for their second-half road game against the Blackhawks on Wednesday in Chicago, Minnesota will pick back up practice the following week.
