During a social media contest for his podcast, Philadelphia Eagles centre Jason Kelce defended the Buffalo Bills’ moniker. So, what did he say about the Bills?
The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills found themselves in a collision path for the AFC Divisional Game. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have again crushed the hearts of Buffalo fans, inflicting another agonising playoff loss.
Travis Kelce, the Chiefs’ tight end, scored two touchdowns in Buffalo’s 27-24 loss. Now, with considerably lesser stakes, he is attempting to hand Bills Mafia another loss.
On the “New Heights” podcasts, which he co-hosts with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles centre Jason Kelce, a bracket-style competition began to determine the best NFL franchise name. In the third-to-last round (similar to the AFC Divisional Round), the Bills and Chiefs face each other.
“I mean, according to the Chiefs, you’re named after a mayor,” the elder Kelce tweeted. “Buffalo Bill was an American soldier, bison hunter, fur trapper, gold prospector, and American icon who received the Medal of Honour for his service. I know which of those I believe is cooler.
Jason’s support for Bills Mafia isn’t as new as it may appear. Kelce tailgated with Buffalo fans before Travis and the Chiefs began their playoff game in Western New York. During the game, he enjoyed interacting with supporters and drank a lot of beer.
