Brandon Hood, a three-star running back recruit, signed a preferred walk-on contract with the Georgia Bulldogs. Hood is the most recent three-star prospect, despite having opportunities to play elsewhere, to sign as a walk-on with Georgia.
At McDonough, Georgia’s Eagles Landing Christian Academy, Brandon Hood plays football for the high school team. Hood is listed as the 63rd running back, the 92nd player in Georgia, and the 817th recruit nationwide.
The three-star running back occasionally fills in as a receiver in the slot. In the fall of 2022, Hood tore his ACL, but he recovered. He is a fast track athlete as well.
Grant has participated in the last four Queensland State of Origin series, during which the Maroons have won three of them. The deft hooker was instrumental in the Kangaroos’ successful 2022 World Cup campaign. He has also played eight Test matches for Australia.
After Maroons and Kangaroos icon Smith, who played a record 430 NRL games for the club and is largely considered as a future Immortal, the 25-year-old becomes just the second hooker to lead the Storm. Bellamy has always preferred to have a forward lead his team on the field, and Grant’s historic rise to the position of Storm captain confirms this.
Grant remarked, “Being given the chance to guide this group of players and our Club is truly an honor.” “It’s unbelievable to see my name listed beside icons like Cameron Smith, Robbie Kearns, Stephen Kearney, and so many more. We have had some incredible people, Captain the Storm.
“Welchy has done an incredible job over the last two seasons, and I know I can lean on him for advice and support along with Munster and Hughesy standing next to me. We have some great players and natural leaders in the group and I can’t wait to get stuck into the season with them.”
