The former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback is seeking for fresh challenges this offseason.
Pittsburgh — The Pittsburgh Steelers have continued to express interest in keeping quarterback Mason Rudolph this offseason, but the veteran passer has reportedly voiced a desire for a “fresh start,” implying that he will explore elsewhere in free agency.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Ian Rapoport, and Mike Garafolo, Rudolph plans to try something new in 2024.

“Rudolph, who will be a free agent next month, has indicated he’s interested in a fresh start after six seasons with the team that drafted him in the third round in 2018,” the NFL Network reported.

Rudolph, 28, went 3-1 as a starter at the end of the season, filling in for an ailing Kenny Pickett. He is 8-4-1 as a starter in the NFL.

Both head coach Mike Tomlin and President Art Rooney II have voiced their desire to re-sign him. However, both have stated several times that they understand he is a free agency and that it is unclear whether they will be able to keep him.

If Rudolph leaves, the Steelers will hunt for competition for Kenny Pickett, most likely by signing a veteran in free agency.
