Pittsburgh — The Pittsburgh Steelers are heading into the summer with a focus on various positions. However, two potential roster gaps could be filled in the 2024 NFL Draft.

According to Pro Football Focus’ latest two-round mock draft, the Steelers choose cornerback Quinyon Mitchell and centre Zach Frazier with their first two picks.

“The Steelers acquired a terrific one in Joey Porter Jr. at the top of the second round last year, but their investment in cornerbacks needs to continue. Mitchell dominated in the Senior Bowl. He is a diverse schemer in terms of both talent and athleticism. According to Trevor Sikkema of PFF, he could be selected higher, but if he makes it this far, he will be highly valued by Pittsburgh.

Following an excellent performance at the Senior Bowl, the Steelers choose Mitchell with the 20th pick. The team spoke with the Toledo standout while in Mobile, Alabama, and following his outstanding performance, he’s likely to move up draft boards.

With the 52nd choice, they select Frazier from West Virginia.

Frazier is regarded as one of the top two centres in the NFL Draft and might be the first player selected at the position. The Steelers will need to make a decision at centre, as Mason Cole’s contract expires after the 2024 season.
