With numerous former Predators captains in attendance, cwelcomed the New Jersey Devils to Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday night. Just a day after forward Phil Tomasino was sent to the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals and Mark Jankowski and Egor Afanasyev were recalled, the Predators were able to take an early lead on special teams. Nashville and New Jersey got off to a fast start in the first period, with both teams trading a few shots on goal before the Devils’ Tomas Nosek was called for high-sticking Cody Glass, giving the Predators an early penalty play. Although it took the majority of the two minutes, the power play unit was able to maintain steady pressure throughout the man advantage, resulting in another Ryan O’Reilly power play goal – his 12th of the season (tied for third in the NHL).
