A shooting at Kansas City’s Union Station occurred shortly after the parade celebrating the Chiefs’ third Super Bowl in five seasons. One person was killed and at least 22 were injured.
The incident occurred near the stage, where players and coaches addressed the audience, ruining the occasion. The squad had off the stage well before the shooting, and officials later confirmed that all team members were safe.

Chiefs quarterback Blaine Gabbert, lineman Trey Smith, centre Austin Reiter, and quarterback Chris Oladukun all assisted in calming down frightened children following Wednesday’s mass incident. Smith even handed one kid a WWE title belt, according to a Sports Illustrated source that USA TODAY Sports corroborated.
