The Tampa Bay Lightning are the obvious buyers during the NHL Trade Deadline in 2024. They have spent a large portion of this season searching for defenseman, and with Mikhail Sergachev sidelined indefinitely, that search has just intensified. However, it doesn’t seem like their main objective before the deadline is up is to improve their blue line.
As to the most recent Trade Watch List published by The Fourth Period, the Lightning is presently associated with Alexander Barabanov, a winger for the San Jose Sharks. The Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche, and Edmonton Oilers are among the teams linked to the talented forward according to TFP.Although the Lightning should prioritize adding a defenseman, it wouldn’t hurt to add another forward to their lineup. If they were to get Barabanov, he would make a great addition to their third line and be a clear choice for power play time.
