For a franchise in a medium-sized, non-destination NBA city—a place where free agents often don’t line up to play—it is a reality of life. If a team like the Jazz doesn’t have uncanny luck, the draft is the only method left to create a team that has a chance of accomplishing their stated goal of winning you-know-what.
