In March of the previous year, the Wild sent Jordan Greenway to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a 2023 second-round pick and a 2024 fifth-round selection. The second-round selection in 2023 has developed into Riley Heidt.

Greenway played in his first game back in Minnesota tonight, and the power forward really showed up. This season, Greenway has been utilized in a variety of locations, mostly in the top six. He’s even made some appearances with the Sabres at center. Greenway has eight goals and eighteen points in 42 games for Buffalo, although he has improved recently. Greenway has four goals and seven points in his previous eight games.

The Wild gave Greenway a video tribute after the first whistle in the first period.

“You think that’s a little strange? Despite the applause during the tribute film, Greenway was jeered after scoring the game-tying goal. “I was just excited to get the goal and tie it up,” she said. “The tribute video, the fans showed a tremendous amount of … they made it special for me and it was really nice to come back to it.”

Greenway, 27, played for the Wild for six seasons during which time he had 119 points, 38 goals, and 478 hits in 317 games.
