Brandon Tanev, a forward with the Seattle Krakens, suffered a setback on Friday night when he had to leave the game due to a lower-body injury. Tanev was clearly frightened after taking a clean, hard blow from Nils Hoglander before to the incident. The 31-year-old forward skated for just 3 minutes and 37 seconds before departing the game. He missed 14 games earlier in the season because of a similar lower-body injury.

Tanev’s history of injuries makes one wonder about his general well-being and suitability for the Kraken. His on-ice contributions have been minimal this season with just two goals in eight games; the squad will surely miss him. It’s unclear how serious Tanev’s current ailment is and whether it has anything to do with his earlier injury. A status update about his condition prior to Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks will be anxiously anticipated by both the club and the fans.
