How dreadful for Iowa as a star player is

The unfortunate truth for all athletes, regardless of caliber, is that their playing days are numbered. Time will ultimately catch up with you, regardless of whether you played your final football snap as a high school senior or if you went on to play in the pros. Many athletes want to compete for as long as their bodies allow them to. The collegiate basketball career of this young guy from Waverly, Iowa, ended sooner than he would have liked.

Austin became into a star for the UNI men’s basketball team in his redshirt sophomore year. In addition to being an MVC First Team Scholar Athlete, he was named to the First Team All-MVC. Both in the classroom and on the floor, Austin was excelling, according to UNI Panthers Basketball.

Austin’s career as a college basketball player will unfortunately end, as seen in this Instagram photo. Austin’s health problems caused him to miss the previous season, and tragically, they have persisted into this one as well. Austin underwent surgery in June of last year to remove blood clots from his lungs, according to KCRG.
