Andrew Davey, who made 44 NRL appearances, is retiring from rugby league. The diligent forward gave up his full-time job as a carpenter in Queensland to follow his NRL goal, and at age 28, he made his debut with the Eels.

The Roosters’ statement did not clarify if the Kiwi prop will hang up his boots or play rugby league elsewhere. The Sydney Morning Herald reported that he had conversations with Hull KR, a Super League team.
