Declan Casey has been cleared of serious injury after being carried off the field during the Wests Tigers’ 18-16 victory over the Warriors in Christchurch.
The 24-year-old centre, who was playing his first game for the Wests Tigers, was knocked out in the first half of the Pre-season Challenge match after a high tackle by Warriors forward Zyon Maiu’u.
Casey was immediately taken to hospital for scans, which have cleared him of serious injury.
After watching the second half of the match from hospital Declan has returned to the team hotel and is due to fly home with his teammates on Monday morning.
He will continue to be monitored by club medical staff over the coming days.
Solomona Faataape, also playing his first game for the club, required a few stitches above the left eye following a head knock, while fellow centre Josh Feledy picked up a minor shoulder injury.
