LaFleur was overjoyed with the signing, as the Chicago Bears had been interested in Mannion as well. He elaborated on it in a recent interview with the latest member to his coaching group.

According to Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, LaFleur expressed astonishment when they allowed him to leave the premises. “But they attempted to grab him. I suppose we had more to give, but we are fortunate to have him. I genuinely believe this kid will have a good future for us, especially in the coaching industry.”
