GOOD NEWS: Brewers signed two free agents to four-year deal this evening

On Monday we found out why, as the right-hander reportedly is returning to the fold on a two-year contract. Jon Heyman of the New York Post first reported the news. The Brewers have made no official announcement. “He’s a great teammate. Everyone loves having Woody around,” Christian Yelich said not long after the news crossed the TV screens in Maryvale in the morning. “It’s just going to be big to have him around this year, in whatever capacity. Whether he pitches or not, who knows? But just to have him around and hopefully have him again next year, ready to go, will be huge for us.

“Love playing with him. There’s nobody else I’d rather have the ball on the mound than Woody. He’s proven it over and over again in big situations. Great competitor, great teammate, so it’s really nice to have him back.” It’s a deal that will reunite the Brewers with their 2014 11th-round pick, a ferocious competitor who became one of the best pitchers and more popular players in franchise history, with an eye on Woodruff hopefully returning to his previous all-star form for the start of the 2025 season. Woodruff, who turned 31 on Feb. 10, made only 11 starts last season, finishing 5-1 with a 2.28 earned run average, WHIP of 0.82 and 74 strikeouts in 67 innings after missing more .
