After a quiet fight with colon cancer, former Michigan Wolverines defensive star Craig Roe passed away tragically. “I wanted to let all of his followers know that after an 18-month battle with Stage IV colon cancer, God brought Craig home on Monday, February 26th,” his widow Chelsea posted on his X account. Since he genuinely wanted to concentrate on providing the greatest content and creating the best goods he could, Craig did not make much of his battle public. Stay closely as he outlined his business timeline.

Before deciding to commit to the Wolverines in 2008, Roh was a four-star recruit at Chaparral High School, where he was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Arizona. Between 2009 and 2012, he was a prominent player for the Michigan Wolverines, writing history with 51 straight starts.

One of his most famous plays helped the Wolverines to a 67-65 triple-overtime win over Illinois in 2010. As Illinois attempted a two-point conversion to send the game into overtime, Roh forced QB Nathan Scheelhaase from the pocket leading to an incomplete pass.

Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore wrote on X: “I am saddened to hear about the passing of former defensive end Craig Roh, our program’s all-time leader in career starts. My heart goes out to his family during this difficult time. The entire Roh family is in my thoughts and prayers and we hope for peace and comfort for all who knew this great Wolverine.”

There were more tributes to come in. Roh’s high school and collegiate teammate, the former NFL player Taylor Lewan, stated: “Without Craig, I never would have had the chance to live the life I do now.” I never would have made it to college, I would never have played in the NFL, and I would not currently be in this role. Thus, Craig Roh did, in fact, significantly improve my quality of life. His wife Chelsea and their newborn kid, who must now grow up without his father, have my deepest sympathies. Craig was a nice man at heart who gave it his all no matter what, according to everyone who knew him.

In honor of their dead comrade, several former Michigan teammates also gave tribute.
