The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to announce the hiring of Bulldogs great Michael (Mick) Potter as Head Coach for the 2024 NSW Cup.

Potter will continue to collaborate closely with Head Coach Cameron Ciraldo before transitioning from his role as an NRL assistant coach in 2023 to overseeing the Club’s next-in-line NRL players in 2024.

As the newly hired NSW Cup coach, Mick Potter is well-positioned to guide the NRL Bulldogs’ future success.

As an extremely experienced and talented coach, he will now have the opportunity to shape the Club’s rising potential, coaching and developing them to their first-grade goals. His appointment replaced

outgoing NSW Cup Coach, David Tangata-Toa who has taken up a post at the New Zealand Warriors.

“NSW Cup is the final testing ground from junior pathways into the NRL,” said General Manager of Football, Phil Gould.

CEO Aaron Warburton praised Mick’s contributions to the club, both on the pitch and as a coach. He did an excellent job for our NRL team during a difficult time, and he has worked relentlessly with Cameron [Ciraldo] throughout the last year. We have a coach with extensive experience at all levels who is an excellent fit to lead our reserve grade team.

Potter played 80 games in the blue and white and was a part of the Bulldogs’ Premiership-winning sides

of 1984 and 1985. Post his playing career, he turned his attention to coaching where he has held several positions across the Super League, NRL, NSWRL and Fiji National Rugby League representative teams.
