Less than a month has passed since the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers faced off in Super Bowl LVIII. In the weeks following that spectacular game, both clubs became inextricably linked for a variety of reasons.
Last week, San Francisco’s interest in Chiefs defensive backs coach Dave Merritt dominated headlines. On Wednesday, it was revealed that the 49ers interviewed the star coach for the previously available defensive coordinator position. The organisation has already moved on, however Merritt may not have been the only Kansas City employee who piqued the curiosity of Kyle Shanahan and company.
