Two individuals died and a third was critically injured after being hit by a car that then drove into a house.
Police were summoned to Gosford Street in Coventry’s city centre at around 8 a.m. on Sunday after reports of three persons being critically hurt.
According to Coventry Live, the vehicle struck a 44-year-old pedestrian before hitting a bike on Woodway Lane in Walsgrave shortly thereafter.
Both patients were transported to critical care but later died. A second person who was struck in the city core suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers from the force’s drone team and dog unit were dispatched to locate the male suspect, who allegedly fled the scene after the automobile hit with a house. A 33-year-old male was located about 9 a.m. and is being questioned in connection with the collisions, police said.
