Spencer Leniu, a Roosters forward, has been sent to the NRL Judiciary for allegedly using a racial slur on Broncos five-eighth Ezra Mam during Sunday’s season opening in Las Vegas.
The incident occurred in the 69th minute of the match at Allegiant Stadium, and referee Adam Gee placed Leniu on report when Mam made the claim against him.
Leniu has since been charged with contrary conduct.
Broncos fullback Reece Walsh has been charged with a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge for a shot on Roosters winger Daniel Tupou in the 46th minute of the contest.
Following the Round 1 games in Las Vegas, Rabbitoh Jai Arrow (Crusher Tackle) and Sea Eagle Nathan Brown (Careless High Tackle) were also charged.
Arrow will be fined $1000 for his early guilty plea, while Brown risks a $1800 fine.
The Eels will be without standout winger Maika Sivo for the first three games due to a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle during the Pre-Season Challenge suspension.
Sivo pleaded guilty to his third and subsequent offence of that kind and accepted a three-game sentence following his knock on Titans centre AJ Brimson last Sunday.
