Kamari Wilson, a former five-star safety, joined the portal formally on Monday. In the 2022 recruiting class, Wilson, a 6-foot, 205-pound defensive back, stood out from IMG Academy. His commitment to Florida over Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, and FSU made him one of Napier’s first major additions as the Gators’ head coach. The 2023 season was very different from the successful 2022 season, in which he played in all 13 games, added 39 tackles, and forced one turnover. Wilson’s playing time was drastically reduced as two freshmen took his place. Before Week 4, he was taken off of Florida’s depth chart, and the Gators never again saw him on the field.
