There will be significant changes to Alabama football in 2024. For some, the mere fact that Kalen DeBoer is now Kalen DeBoer’s sideline patrol partner rather than Nick Saban would be enough of a change, but the real on-field product will also appear very different.

DeBoer is bringing with him a potent offensive scheme that helped coach lead Washington to the national championship game the previous year and send Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Michael Penix Jr. to New York.

The Huskies led the league in throw yards per game and finished in the top 15 in terms of points scored and yards per game among all college football teams. DeBoer’s approach revolves around the quarterback, and when he adds explosive outside receivers like Rome Odunze of Washington last season, you get a passing attack that amassed over 5,000 yards in total play.
