Matt Rempe, an enforcer for the New York Rangers, was given a four-game suspension by the NHL for elbowing New Jersey Devils defender Jonas Siegenthaler in the face. This is Rempe’s first suspension in the league, having only made his big-league debut last month in an outdoor game against the New York Islanders. Rempe was not eligible for a five-game suspension because he did not have an in-person hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety.
