Brian Snitker Named Manager of Atlanta Braves
The Atlanta Braves named Brian Snitker permanent manager on Tuesday, following his tenure as temporary manager at the close of 2016.
The Braves announced the employment on Tuesday, after FoxSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal revealed on Monday that he was the top candidate for the full-time position.
The 60-year-old coaching veteran, who’s managed all across the Braves’ minor league system, told Mark Bowman of MLB.com on Sept. 28 that he’d love to keep the position in 2017 and beyond, but general manager John Coppolella didn’t commit.
“[Snitiker] has been outstanding on and off the pitch,” Coppolella stated. “He’s been just what we needed right now. We will continue to evaluate.
