COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Tyler Toffoli scored twice and contributed an assist as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 6-1 on Sunday night.
Nikolaj Ehlers got a goal and an assist, while Kyle Connor, Logan Stanley, and Vladislav Namestnikov also scored. Sean Monahan had two assists, and Connor Hellebuyck stopped 30 shots for the Jets, who drew even with the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche atop the NHL Central Division.

Brendan Gaunce scored, and Elvis Merzlikins stopped 21 saves for Columbus, which has lost four of its previous five games, including three of four at home. The Blue Jackets remain last in the Metropolitan Division.
Connor put Winnipeg on the board with the game’s opening shot, a wide-open wrister from the slot with 1:26 left. Mark Scheifele’s primary assist brought his season total to 40 for the sixth time in his career.
