Craig Counsell, the Chicago Cubs manager, is concerned about the injury of one of the team’s top hitters.

Patrick Wisdom, a Chicago Cubs slugger, missed another game due to a back injury.

Wisdom is now on course to miss Opening Day, which is a worrying indicator before the year begins.

The 32-year-old has been a key component of the Cubs’ lineup in recent years, hitting more than 23 home runs in each of the last three seasons. At his peak, he has the potential to hit 30 or more home runs per season.

Wisdom hasn’t played since March 13 and has 16 at-bats in Spring Training. He’s due to see a doctor, and Chicago will proceed from there.

Skipper Craig Counsell doesn’t seem too encouraged about the injury, having the following to say, according to Feinsand.

“Not really sure what’s going to happen next, but obviously, it’s concerning that we had to stop today.
