BREAKING: Bulldogs’ Two Key Players are Suspended For Five Games Due To

There’s something missing at the Bulldogs, and former captain Michael Ennis believes the problem is in the front pack.

Ennis, speaking to foxsports.com.au ahead of Saturday’s game, stated that the Bulldogs are “certainly short in the front row” and had looked at Addin Fonua-Blake and Payne Haas who have been off contract for the past 12-18 months.

Ennis, who played 136 games for the Bulldogs and led the club to two grand finals, reflected on his playing career and how clubs’ DNA was established around fierce forward packs.

“If you look at the times when Canterbury have been successful, the pack that they had certainly through those 90s was something that was spoken about a lot to us back when I was playing,” he went on to say.

“They talked a lot about the club’s fabric, and much of it revolved around the forward pack.

“Look at the 2000s teams; they all had vicious front packs.

“Then you look at the 2004 team, which included Willie Mason, Roy Asotasi, and Reni Maitua, who was playing for Australia at the time.”
