Tevita Pangai Jr. said, “I’m ready Kevvie,” rejecting the possibility of a reunion with Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett.

Pangai Jr., who turned down a lucrative contract with the Bulldogs just six months earlier, will most likely sign with Kevin Walters’ Broncos before the June 30 deadline.

The 28-year-old abandoned the NRL to focus on his boxing career, and this Saturday night in Ipswich, Pangai Jr. (3-0, 2KO) will square off against Raphael Sa’u (1-0-1).

TPJ played a brief stint for Walters in 2021 after making his NRL debut under Bennett at Brisbane, and he then joined the Bulldogs after six games at the Panthers.

The Dolphins were connected to the Origin-experienced prop on Saturday after Bennett disclosed that the team has “millions of dollars” remaining in their salary cap for the current campaign.

Pangai Jr., who plays for Souths Logan in the Queensland Cup, was present at the Dolphins’ game against the Dragons on Sunday in Redcliffe. However, he has subsequently decided not to join the expansion team.

Wayne and I had a conversation on Saturday following his press conference, Pangai Jr. said to The Courier Mail.
