Leo Thompson, a Knights forward, has been charged with Grade 2 Dangerous Contact following Sunday night’s win against Melbourne and may face suspension.
The Kiwi International was placed on report in the 65th minute of the Round 3 match for making contact with Storm fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen in the air, and he risks a one-game penalty with an early guilty plea.
If he chooses to contest the case in court, the penalty might be increased to two matches.
Wests Tigers’ Api Koroisau and Stefano Utoikamanu are among four players accused after Saturday’s Round 3 matches.
Koroisau risks a $1000 fine for a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact charge, and Utoikamanu will be fined $1000 if he enters an early guilty plea to a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle penalty.
Jesse Marschke, a Dragons rookie, has been charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle on Cowboys halfback Chad Townsend. If he pleads guilty early, he faces a $1000 fine. If he contests the charge and is found guilty at panel, the cost would increase to $1500.
