“YOU ARE THE WORST COACH I HAVE EVER MET” Dockers Star Player Reacts to Poor Coaching Approach.

Nathan Buckley, the Collingwood champion, has called for an end to the “character assassination” on Justin Longmuir, the senior coach at Fremantle.

The 43-year-old Longmuir and the Dockers this week signed a one-year contract extension that would extend his contract until the end of 2025.

Last Sunday at Optus Stadium, the Dockers unexpectedly defeated Brisbane, the finalists, to earn their first victory of the season.

“Can we really put an end to Justin Longmuir’s character assassination after yesterday?” on Fox Footy’s On the Couch, inquired of Buckley.

“I think there is a negative correlation between his personality and the team’s performance and how he has been viewed as a coach.”

Legendary Melbourne player Garry Lyon understood the gravity of his colleague’s request.

The word “character assassination” is inflammatory. Do you believe it has been that powerful? Lyon enquired.

Without a doubt, Buckley replied. “It would have been slated back to ‘Longy’ and the way that he may carry himself in the public forum if Fremantle started the season poorly and their offense (was) dour.”
