Chiefs star slapped with fine as NFL announce punishment

On Friday, Louis Rees-Zammit will disprove those who doubted him by agreeing to an NFL training contract. With any luck, he’ll help the Kansas City Chiefs win another Super Bowl.

The former Wales wing will make a huge move to the Chiefs and play among players like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce after abruptly quitting rugby, the sport he grew up playing, in an attempt to try and break into America. In the USA, Rees-Zammit’s growth has been astounding.

He acknowledged that prior to being granted a spot on the NFL’s International Player Pathway (IPP) earlier this year, he had not played American football correctly.

However, Rees-Zammit attracted interest from over a dozen professional NFL teams, including the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, and Denver Broncos, after impressing the sport’s scouts on the IPP program.

Rees-Zammit’s ultimate choice of the Chiefs is not shocking considering that Andy Reid’s squad has won three of the previous five Super Bowl championships.
