Saint Paul, Minnesota.The Minnesota Wild, led by President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin, have signed defenseman Jack Peart to a three-year, entry-level contract beginning in 2024-25.

Peart, 20, played 38 games for St. Cloud State (NCAA) this season, scoring 14 points (3-11=14), taking 65 shots on goal, accumulating 18 penalty minutes (PIM), and blocking 49 shots. This season, the 6-foot, 195-pound native of Grand Rapids, Minn., finished third among team defensemen in points, goals, and assists.

Peart played 108 games for St. Cloud State over a three-year period (2021-24), recording 55 points (8-47=55), 64

PIM, 147 shots, 113 blocked shots, and a +15 rating. Peart had career highs in points (3-21=24) and assists in 2022-23. He competed for the United States National Junior Team in the 2022 and 2023 IIHF World Junior Championships, scoring five points (0-5=5) and earning a plus-3 rating in 11 games. He won a bronze medal in 2023. Peart won the 2021 Mr. Hockey Award as well as the Reed Larson Award, which is given to the state’s finest senior boys’ high school defenceman.

The Wild drafted Peart in the second round (54th overall) at the 2021 NHL Draft.
