Pittsburgh — The Pittsburgh Steelers may be trying to trade Diontae Johnson this summer, and if they do, it will most likely be before or during the NFL Draft.
According to sources, the organisation is willing to make a move for its experienced wide receiver.Johnson may be looking to leave Pittsburgh before the end of his contract year. So, what may the Steelers expect in return?
While rumours have circulated that a third-round pick would be the ideal price for the 27-year-old wide receiver, this seems a little low. Johnson hasn’t had a 1,000-yard season since signing his contract extension, but he also hasn’t had a consistent quarterback.
Kenny Pickett continues to grow, but he also sets a very low standard when
went in for four games and looked good, but that was it.Then there was Mitchell Trubisky.
Teams willing to trade for Johnson are likely to perceive greater upside than those who have observed him in Pittsburgh. They see one of the best route runners in football, as well as a guy who has overcome some drop concerns to have rather reliable hands.
They are certainly aware of the team’s poor quarterback play and the fact that it recently replaced an offensive coordinator who was regarded as the worst in the NFL for nearly three seasons.
